Janice Buckley, 63, Rapid City, SD and formerly of Mitchell, died Monday, May 22, 2017 at the Dougherty Hospice House in Sioux Falls.
Funeral services will be 10:30 am Friday, May 26 at the Bittner Funeral Chapel in Mitchell. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery in Mitchell. Visitation will be from 5-7:00 pm Thursday at the Bittner Funeral Chapel.
Janice Marie Buckley was born December 16, 1953 in Mitchell, SD to Norman and Irene (Sigmund) Hohn. She grew up near Letcher and graduated from Letcher High School in 1972. On November 11, 1978 she married Gary Lee Buckley in Mitchell. They resided in Rapid City where Janice was employed by Scheels for over twenty years. Jan was an avid hunter, bow hunter and thoroughly enjoyed the outdoors. She holds the world record for the largest Black Bear killed by a woman with bow and arrow.
She is survived by one brother, Larry (Maribeth) Hohn, one nephew, Travis Hohn, step-nephew, Justin (Grace) Hoek, great nephew and niece, Mason and Molly Hohn, step-great niece and nephew, Jazzmyn and Vyncent Hoek and father and mother-in-law, Ray and Evelyn Buckley all of Mitchell.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Gary on November 24, 2008, brother, Gerald Hohn in July 2016 and an infant brother.
