Norbert James Mohnen was born on November 5, 1918 at the family farm three and one half miles south of
On June 12, 1944, he married Marguerite (Trenary) at St. Peter’s Catholic Parish,
He farmed all his life. He was a 4-H leader. He enjoyed going to the State Fair. He was active in the Farmers Union. He was a life time member of the St. Peter’s Catholic Church. In his later years he enjoyed his puzzles, reading the paper, playing cards, going to the Senior Citizen’s Center and visiting with his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife; and four children, Norbert Mohnen Jr. and wife, Gale, Custer; Nancy Thayer, Somerset, KY; Jeanice Korzan and husband Gary, Mitchell; and Cynthia Brick and husband Ken, Waconia, MN; 9 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren, one brother, Cletus Mohnen, White Lake and four sisters: Margaret Bruns, Plankinton; Lola Mae Bruns, Plainview, NE; Eloise Young, Elgin, MN and Roberta Grant, Larned, KS. He is preceded in death by his parents, Matt and Ida Mohnen, one sister, Marie Bruns, and one son, Ronnie Mohnen and one grandson, Norbert Lee Mohnen.
