Orin Glenn Freeman was born April 23, 1962 to Edwin and Jessie (Behrendt) Freeman in Mitchell, SD. Through second grade he was a student at Worthen 1 country school and then attended Ethan Public School; graduating from Ethan High School in 1980. He attended South Dakota State University in Brookings, SD. Orin then took over the family farm and for the last 26 years he worked for Heart of America Dairy Herd Improvement Association. He was united in marriage to Karen Hilden on May 24, 1997 at Kviteseid Lutheran Church in Milan, MN. To this union, three sons, Jonathon, Matthew, and Michael were born.
Orin’s greatest joy in his life was his family. He loved them and was so proud of them. He taught them much about life working alongside of them on the farm. He was a member of St. John Lutheran Church, the South Dakota Rabbit Breeders Association, and was very active in 4-H with his boys. We will all miss his sense of humor and his laugh.
Grateful for having shared his life are his wife, Karen of Ethan; three sons, Jonathon, Matthew, and Michael at home; father-in-law, Glen Hilden of Milan, MN; brother, Lynn Freeman of Ethan, SD; sister, Anita Freeman of Dublin, CA; brother-in-law, Terry (Autumn) Hilden of Montevideo, MN; uncle, George Freeman of Mitchell, SD; two aunts, Beverly Parks of Lewisville, TX and Amy Behrendt of Salem, SD; along with many cousins, nieces and nephews.
Orin was preceded in death by his parents; an infant brother, Stanley; mother-in-law, Barbara Hilden; grandparents and several aunts and uncles.

I read about the recent death of Orin and I know Karen and the
Freeman family have saddened hearts today. So I wanted to share this beautiful scripture where our heavenly father, Jehovah, (Psalm 83:18), promises us that he is going to do away with man's greatest enemy, death. Rev. 21: 4; "And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. Isaiah 33:24 guarantees us: "And no resident will say "I am sick." God's kingdom that Jesus taught us to pray for at Matt. 6: 9, 10 will bring about these wonderful promises, including the resurrection. None of us are guaranteed tomorrow, but we are all guaranteed a resurrection. (John 5:28, John 6:40, John 11:25) Also, Titus 1: 2 tells us this promise of a resurrection: "is based on a hope of the everlasting life that God, who cannot lie, promised long ago." Isaiah 26:19 "Your dead will live......And the earth will let those powerless in death come to life." Isaiah 25:8 "He will swallow up death forever. For Jehovah himself has spoken it." Jehovah invites you to throw all your burdens on him and he will sustain you in your time of grief. It is my prayer this scripture will give you comfort in your grief.
