Obituary

Duane Gregory Welch was born August 23, 1932 in Fulton, SD to Ellery and Ethel (Harris) Welch. He graduated from Plano High School and enlisted in the Army in 1953 and served until 1955. On October 19, 1955 he married Elaine Degen. Duane was employed throughout the years at Rozum Motor Company, Farmers Coop Elevator and Myers Oil Company.

Grateful for having shared his life his wife of 61 years, Elaine, three children: Greg (Marina) Welch of Las Vegas, NV, Sharon Syrstad and Sandy (Randy) Hanssen of Mitchell, two brothers: Jim (Dee) Welch of Coon Rapids, MN, Denny (Janice) Welch of Mitchell, one sister, Ruth (John) Paulson of Carson, ND; six grandchildren: Andrea Syrstad of Harlan, IA, David Syrstad of Longmont, CO, Ashley (Chad) Hunt of Sioux Falls, SD, Jesse Hanssen of Monument, CO, Jennifer (Jason) Breidenbach of Sioux Falls, SD and Jason (Becca) Hanssen of Volga, SD; six great-grandchildren: Ellie Breidenbach, Kinzey Breidenbach, Landon Hanssen, Carter Hanssen, Alexis Hanssen and Kamden Hunt.

He was preceded in death by his parents, an infant brother, Joseph, one sister, Glays Hasz, one brother, Paul Welch, one sister-in-law, Vi  Degen, three brothers-in-law, Dean Lowrie, Ken Hasz and Delbert Degen.
