Samuel Alvin Weisser was born December 25, 1923 near Delmont, SD to Fred and Susan (Bender) Weisser. He grew up and attended country school south of Delmont. On September 29, 1946 he married Lucille Schmidt at the Congregational Church in Parkston. They farmed their entire lives before retiring to an acreage near Emery. He was an avid gardener and enjoyed doing mechanical work. He was a member and Elder of the Trinity Orthodox Presbyterian Church in Bridgewater.
He is survived by his wife, Lucille; one daughter, Cynthia Kaldun and husband, Ken of Alexandria, SD; two sisters, Lydia Kaul of Camas, WA and Frieda Baier of Delmont, SD; two grandchildren, Robin Haiar and husband, Chris and Natalie Fauth; three great-grandchildren: Caden, Skyler and Maverick; one son-in-law, Eldon Fauth of Emery and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by one daughter, Bonnie Fauth, his parents, three brothers and three sisters.
