Obituary

Marvin “Dean” Schryvers was born September 15, 1936 at Platte, SD to Sam and Ellen (Beck) Schryvers. He grew up attending school in Platte and Corsica. At a young age he joined the US Marine Corps. Dean married Patricia Miller and into this union was born six children, 13 grandchildren and six great grandchildren. On September 4, 1987 he married Sharon Spier and they resided in Wagner. Sharon brought five children and five grandchildren to this union. Dean was employed with Charles Mix County for 35 years as a police officer and later with the maintenance department. In 2003 he retired and moved to Mitchell. He was a lifetime member of the VFW and American Legion. He enjoyed umpiring baseball games for many years, fishing, and hunting and was a master gardener.

He is survived by his wife, Sharon; sons: Craig (Annette Pannkuk) Schryvers of Avon, Laine (Leah) Schryvers of Avon and D J (Jamie) Schryvers of Bridgewater; eight brothers and sisters and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by three children, three infant great grandchildren, a sister, Anna Horst and a brother-in-law, Marlin “Pug” Sejnoha.

So sorry in the passing of your husband. Know it has been years since we last saw each other and JoAnn Houska has kept me up dated some if she saw you. God be with you and your family.
