Obituary

Mava Alvina (Taplin) Wieczorek, 88, of Mitchell quietly left her earthly life and was welcomed into her eternal life with Jesus on Monday, September 19, 2016 at her home under hospice care.

Mava Alvina (Taplin) Wieczorek was born January 30, 1928 at Mt. Vernon, SD to Elmer and Grace (McLeod) Taplin. She grew up in the Mt. Vernon area and graduated from Mt. Vernon High School.

On December 15, 1946 she married Clifford Wieczorek at Mitchell, SD. They raised five children together on their farm southwest of Mitchell.  They were entrepreneurs in the farming industry and taught their children by example to persevere, have determination, be dependable and above all, to put God first.

Mava had a strong faith in God.  She believed in miracles.  She loved and cared about people;  so she was continually being a channel, unaware, showing how much God loves each one of us.  She prayed continually for her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and their spouses who all had a special place in her heart. She bubbled with joy as each of her great grandchildren was introduced to her and became a part of her family.  Whoever entered her world… child, neighbor, stranger… she loved them and cared about them as her own, not just for the moment but for all her life.  Most of us will never know how much she prayed for us until we meet her in heaven.  Her greatest desire was for each person she loved and cared about to know God and meet Him in heaven.

Mava is survived by her husband, Clifford, Mitchell, SD; her sons: Duayne (Cindy) Wieczorek, Sioux Falls; SD, Rolly Wieczorek, Mitchell, SD; Les (Marilyn) Wieczorek, Mt. Vernon, SD; daughters, Gloria Pinkerton and Jeanie (Ron) Seager both of Olathe, KS; sisters, Marlene Hart, Piedmont, SD and Darlene Broadhead, Arvada, CO; 15 grandchildren and their spouses and 31 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Grace and Elmer Taplin and her sister, Maxine Hildebrandt.

Thinking of you all. Beautifully written obituary. I really felt that spirit of caring and love in her whenever I stopped by the house in Mitchell in the last few years.
