Michael David Kline was born May 17, 1968 in Sioux City, IA to David and Anita Kay (Rokusek) Kline. He attended Milford Elementary School in Milford, IA, St. Martin’s Catholic School in Huron, SD and graduating from Huron High School in 1986. After graduation he attended Lake Area Technical Institute, Dakota Wesleyan University, Mitchell Vo-Tech and also graduated from Matuska School of Taxidermy. Additionally, he was a certified wildland firefighter.
Michael worked in the restaurant business in the Okoboji, IA region and in Mitchell. After living in Montana, Washington and Iowa he returned to South Dakota. He enjoyed the outdoors with hunting and fishing, as well as a love for cooking.
Michael is survived by his parents, David and Anita Kay Kline, Mitchell; his sister, Katy Kline, Spirit Lake, IA; uncle, Tom and aunt Norma Rokusek, uncle Steve Kline, uncle Bob Kline; cousins: Jeff Rokusek, and Jamie (Carla) Rokusek and family; step-grandmother, Judy Kline; his special companion, a yellow lab, Brute; and numerous other relatives.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, James and Frances Rokusek; and paternal grandparents, Robert and Evelyn Kline.

I would have to say Mike was a wonderful guy and I thoroughly enjoyed running around the lakes area for a time. It was a true honor to know him. Godspeed Mike!!!!

I was in the boy scouts with Mike. I am saddened to hear of his passing. I remember the fun and mischief we would get in to while at summer camp. My condolences go out to all his friends and family. He will be greatly missed.

Mike was one of my best friends throughout high school. He was always that funny guy. He will sure be missed. My thoughts go out to his family.

Mike was a big, goofy, love of a guy. He would do anything for you, if he could. He made me laugh. He said it like he saw it. He cared so much about his family. We are all saddened by the loss of our friend.
