Sandra Lee Hayes was born October 21, 1941 in Butler, SD to John and Emma (Reich) Schimmel. She attended and graduated from Bristol High School in 1959. She was employed for 35 years at Lake Area Hospital in Webster in numerous positions. In 1996 she went to work at Mike’s Jack and Jill where she baked until her retirement.
Sandy married Glen Hayes on November 4, 1961. They made their home in Webster, SD. After Glen died and Sandy retired, she moved to Mitchell to be closer to a dialysis unit and her daughter. She was an avid watcher of both the Minnesota Twins and the Vikings. She loved her television and watched many cooking programs as well as her soaps.
She is survived by her daughter, Cindy Kiner and son, Randy Hayes both of Mitchell; grandchildren: Cassie (Austin) Werkmeister and John (Maci) Kiner, great grandchildren: Hannah & Hailey Werkmeister, Hayden Fessler and Wade Kiner II all of Mitchell and her sister-in-law, Joyce McKittrick of Bristol, SD.
She is preceded in death by her husband in 1995, one son in infancy, her sisters, Donna Hannon and Marlene Samuelson, her son-in-law, Wade Kiner and her parents.

Just seen in Abedeen paper that cousin Sandy passed away. Cindy and family and Randy sorry for the loss of your mother. My thoughts and Prayers are with your family during this time.

So sorry about Sandy's passing, I worked with her for many years at the hospital in Webster, we had many good times, it is hard to lose your Mother but now she is at peace with our Lord.

Cindy, you have a lot of family celebrating together in heaven! Bet the party is amazing! Losing a mom is tough....but you are so strong and will carry on with children and grandbabies. They will get you through even though you will not stop missing her. Love and prayers!!!
