Obituary

William Pierre Campbell was born August 6, 1940 at Pierre, SD to William and Iva (McCamly) Campbell. He grew up on the farm east of Onida and attended schools in Onida and Rapid City. On December 14, 1968 he married Arlene Baade in Pierre. They farmed near Onida and Gettysburg until moving to Mitchell in 1983. In 1986 Bill graduated from Mitchell Technical Institute with a degree in refrigeration, electrical and air conditioning. He worked as a maintenance supervisor at Firesteel Healthcare for several years and then worked as a welder at Trial King Industries. Bill retired as Sargent from the 147th Army National Guard Unit in Mitchell. Bill enjoyed having coffee with friends and especially enjoyed time with his family and grandchildren.

He is survived by three daughters: Holly (Steve) Langner of Mount Vernon, Sheri Dardis of Waseca, MN, Terrie (Farzad) Mahmoodi of Hannawa Falls, NY; two sons: Tyrone Campbell and William M. (Vanessa) Campbell of Mitchell; two brothers: Colin Campbell of Gettysburg, Arlo Campbell of Pierre; 12 grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Arlene, his parents and a sister-in-law, Nina Wilhelmson.

I feel that I am forgetting to stop by and help you almost every day. I'm sorry for not being the best son to you and mom also I am sorry to cause you so much stress. Miss you Dad

I enjoyed knowing Bill, while we were in the Guard. He was naturally friendly and a pleasant man to visit with. Bill, I hope you're resting in peace.
