Obituary

     Donald Leslie Sweeney was born April 12, 1938 at Ravinia, SD to Hugh and Edith (Gross) Sweeney. He grew up living and attending school at Kimball and Tyndall. He served in the US Army from 1955 to 1958. On September 7, 1964 he married Judy Borgheiinck in Emery.

     Don was employed as a John Deere mechanic until retiring in 2010. For several years he operated a road maintainer in Pleasant Township.

     He is survived by his wife, Judy; three brothers: Merlin (Vivian) Sweeney of Bassett, NE, Richard Sweeney of Brookings, Robert (Emelda) Sweeney of Crestview, FL; two sisters: Dorothy Nelson of Sioux Falls and Mary Kaye (Jim) VanSickle of Bassett, NE.

     He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, John.

So sorry for your loss, Judy. He was such a good man. I remember you two dating and driving up and down main street just yesterday! People who use Pleasant Township roads are really going to miss you Donnie. Especially with all this rainl Please tell my folks Hello when you get to visit with my folks up there! RIP

I am so sorry for your loss. Donny was a good, kind man and always tried to do the right thing. Rest assured Judy, he thought the world of you which was evident in so many ways. He will be so missed.
