Nettie V. (Kennobie) Millage was born July, 1 1930 to Androus and Mary (Krause) Kennobie on the homestead east of Reliance, SD. She was the 10th born of 12 children. She attended country school in Reliance through the sixth grade. She was a member of the Chamberlain Auxiliary until she went into the Brady Nursing home in Mitchell, SD where she passed on April 18th, 2016.
Nettie was an extremely hard working woman; she was a cook for many years in many different establishments. She was also a care giver for anyone in need or less fortunate, she always looked out for the underdog. She was willing to do whatever she could, save pop tabs, do laundry; she loved to cook for anyone who would eat it! She hated to be late for anything and could put you back on your heels in an instance with a tongue lashing if she felt you needed it. Nettie absolutely loved to play cards, every year she could be found at the legion playing pitch for turkeys and hams or she loved to play any kind of cards with anyone who asked. She would even play solitaire when she had nothing else to do. She also loved to dance and sing, she could out walk anyone, and she was always on the run until her legs could no longer carry her. She was notorious for giving people nicknames even if she just met you. She lived life to the fullest and to this life she brought five loving children: Edward (Eddie), Bernadine (Bernie), Anita (Needles), Paul (Lil Pauley) and Ginger (Gin); 17 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren and 2 great, great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by many family members, friends and loved ones. She may be gone, but never forgotten and forever in our hearts, and now she is Home and at Peace!
