Joseph Benjamin Nagel was born March 1, 1936 to Frederick and Mamie (Miller) Nagel in Mitchell. Joe was united in marriage on August 31, 1963 to Sharon Oswald at Holy Family Catholic Church in Mitchell.
Joe was an avid outdoorsman and he loved to hunt and fish with his friends and grandchildren. He was a member of the Amateur Trapshooting Association winning numerous State Trapshooting Titles. In 1999 Joe was inducted into the SD Trapshooting Hall of Fame. He looked forward to visits from his cherished grandchildren and great grandchildren. Although he retired from painting Joe remained “chief” of his paint shop.
Joe is survived by his wife, Sharon; four children: Fred Nagel and Angie Nagel of Mitchell, Kelly (Brian) Muntefering of Dimock, Amy (Angelo) DiMeglio of Lawrenceville, NJ; grandchildren: Jordan Muntefering, Joe Nagel, Chris Nagel of Mitchell, Danielle and Matthew DiMeglio of Lawrenceville, NJ, great grandchildren: Marley and Jarrin Muntefering of Mitchell; brothers: Bill (Betty) Nagel of Winston-Salem, NC, Bob (Shirley) Nagel of Mitchell; sister, Suzetta Miller of Mesa, AZ and many nieces and nephews.
Joe was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Daniel Nagel.
