Obituary

Darlene Rose Goldammer was born August 17, 1932 at Ethan, SD to William P. and Ruby (Smith) Reinartz. She graduated from Notre Dame High School in 1950. On June 3, 1950 she married William H. Goldammer. Darlene was employed by Palace Cleaners and Stedman’s Cleaners while attending Mitchell Vo-Tech to obtain her Medical Lab Tech Degree in May of 1973. She worked at the LCM Lab in Mitchell and then the St. Benedict Hospital Lab in Parkston where she also assisted with surgeries. When the Dakota Medical Specialist Clinic was built in Mitchell she worked there for numerous years. She was employed by Syncom Industries until they closed and then worked at County Fair Food Store until retiring in 2010. She was a resident at Firesteel Healthcare for the past year. Darlene enjoyed tending to her flowers, doing yard work and attending the activities of her grandchildren. On her 80th birthday she received a dog named Maggie, who lit up her life.

She is survived by three children: Mike (Jane Wagner) Goldammer of Mitchell, William (Barb Carpenter) Goldammer of Mitchell, and Susan (Laurence) Hohn of Rock Falls, IL; 14 grandchildren, 34 great grandchildren, three great great grandchildren, one sister and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, son, David, granddaughter, Tara and her long-time companion, Arthur Adams.
