Jack William Tischler was born August 2, 1927 to Martin and Ella (Goldhammer) Tischler in Mitchell. He grew up in Mitchell and graduated from Mitchell High School in 1945 and attended Dakota Wesleyan University. On September 18, 1948 he married Bonnie Ferguson in Luverne, MN. Jack worked for the government as a weather observer, superintendent/estimator for Fergusen Construction Company, Carl Sheesley Construction and was employed at the US Postal Service for 30 years. Jack served his country in WWII and the Korean War. He loved to fish, hunt and fly. Jack loved his children and grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife, Bonnie, two children: Craig (Lisa) Tischler, Mitchell, Lori (Jerome) Bork, Mitchell; three grandchildren: Trish (Charlie) Bates, Rhennetta and Reva Bork; three great-grandchildren: Lincoln, Bentley and Boston Bates and two brothers, Donald and Robert Tischler.
He is preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Shirley Johnson.

Enjoyed serving with Jack during the Korean War.He was a outstanding member of Co.B 196th RCT.My sincere condolences to Bonnie and family.
