Obituary

 

Carol Faye Brink was born August 30, 1932 at Plankinton to Leonard (Sam) and Margaret (Mitchell) Olson. She grew up at Plankinton and graduated from Plankinton High School.  Carol moved with her family to Oregon for a few years and then returned to Plankinton where she worked for Anderson Furniture, meeting her sweetheart, Lawrence Brink. On October 11, 1951 she married Lawrence Brink.  She worked alongside her husband for Standard Oil Company for over 40 years as a bookkeeper.  Carol was an avid collector of salt and pepper shakers, collecting over 600 pair and she enjoyed summers on the boat fishing with her husband.  She loved to sew and bake cookies for her grandchildren. She had a passion for helping others by volunteering for the Plankinton Ambulance Department for twenty years.  She was a member of the Plankinton United Methodist Church and the VFW Ladies Auxiliary.

She is survived by her three children: Steve Brink, Mount Vernon, Judy Keller, Mitchell and David (Peggy) Brink, Farmington, MN; 18 grandchildren, 11 great- grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild and three sisters: Marilyn Blanshan, Sodaville-Lebanon, OR; Sharon Price, Woodburn, OR and Nancy Darby, Lebanon, OR.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence in 2012, one granddaughter and two brothers: Eldon and Merrill.

Sorry to hear of carols passing. My dad spoke very fondly of your mom when she was on the ambulance crew. Dad said she was one of the best and was glad Carol was on board when he was driving.
