Obituary

 

Betty Lou Bartscher was born July 30, 1932, at Mitchell, to Fred and Maude (Zehlke) Harris. She grew up at Plano and graduated from Plano High School. On October 10, 1953, she married Donald Bartscher at Mitchell. She was employed at the SD Farmers Union, Automotive Supply Company and was a cashier at the Red Owl Food Store. She was member of St. Martins Catholic Church and St. Martins Altar Society in Emery. She had been a resident of the Diamond Care Center in Bridgewater and Avera Brady Health and Rehab in Mitchell.

Betty is survived by her children:  Boyd (Sandra) Bartscher, Bridgewater; Donna (James) Ruden, Emery; Edwin (Lynn) Bartscher, Brandon; Francis (Colleen) Bartscher, Rapid City; Gerald Bartscher, Mitchell; Ila (Doug) Cunningham, Mitchell; Joyce (Steve) Erickson, Emery; Karl (Gloria) Bartscher, Winfred; Larry Bartscher, Mitchell; Maureen Heyd, Canistota; Nickolas (Shannon) Bartscher, Mitchell and Ona (Chris) Collins, Emery; brothers: Donald (Norma) Harris, Mitchell; Mike (Sharice) Harris, Sioux Falls; sister, Helen Whitney, Rapid City; son-in-law, Larry Berg, Alexandria; 35 grandchildren and 36 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald, daughters, Anita Berg, Camilla Bartscher and Helen Bartscher, sister, Jeanette Sargeant, son-in-law, Roger Heyd and grandson, Kirby Bartscher.
