Clarice Iola Nutter was born June 23, 1931 at Mitchell, SD to Clarence and Viola (Koepke) Godber. She grew up in the Letcher area graduating from Letcher High School in 1949. She attended Northern State College and taught in rural schools for several years. On December 23, 1951 she married Dale Nutter.  Clarice was employed by Modern Stationers for six years and then worked as Deputy City Treasurer and then she was the City Treasurer for twelve years. She later worked at the Mitchell Area Federal Credit Union until retiring in 1993.  She was a member of the Loomis Congregational Church.

She is survived by two sons: Terry (Mary) Nutter, Mitchell; Gary (Lynette) Nutter, Howard; six grandchildren: Jennifer (Jack) Sorenson, Rebecca (Kyle) Franey, Shannon (Joe) Marshall, Chris (Joanie) Nutter, Stephanie (Gavin) Stevens and Matt Nutter and nine great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Dale, one sister, Norma Hadden and one brother, Verlyn Godber.
