Obituary

Marvin Dale Struck was born to the late Roy and Frieda Struck on July 15th 1948 in Parkston, SD.  He graduated from Delmont High School in the class of ‘66.  He was a standout athlete in football, basketball and track and field for the Delmont Wildcats.

He served in the US Army in the Vietnam War from ’68 to late ’69 when he was wounded in combat.  He received the Purple Heart and the Bronze Star Medal.

He was married to Joyce Schmidt of Parkston, SD in ‘72.  From this union three children were born. 

Marvin was very involved throughout his life in the VFW, American Legion, Color Guard and he also served as the commander of the VFW Post 2750 from 1997-2002.

He worked in the distribution business for much of his adult life.  He then worked at the Adjustment Training Center in Plankinton, SD until his retirement.

Marvin loved to spend time fishing, golfing and traveling.  He also enjoyed spending time with his family and many friends.  He loved to cheer on the Minnesota Twins, Minnesota Vikings, Nebraska Cornhuskers and Dakota Wesleyan Tigers.

He is survived by three children, Laura (Chris) Louwagie of Luverne, MN; Beth (Chris) Martinez of Ft. Collins, CO; Michael Struck and fiancée, Renee Vecchia of Denver, CO; his two sisters, Connie (Harley) Wubben of Salem, SD; Gail (Roger) Mehlhaff of Tripp, SD; special friend, Deb Lunder of Mitchell, SD; six grandchildren, nieces, nephews and MANY friends..
