Obituary

Marlys Ann Stransky was born May 24, 1936, in Aurora County to Thomas and Ella (Eggers) Herron. She attended school through the 8th grade in Aurora County then moved to Reliance with her family where she graduated from Reliance High School. On April 5, 1959, she married Billy Stransky at the First Lutheran Church in Mitchell. They lived in Miner County, then Huron for 18 years and Onida for 22 years. She had been a resident of Mitchell since 2003. She was an active member of the American Lutheran Church in Huron and a member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Onida. She was a 4-H Leader for many years. She was an awesome cook and enjoyed crossword puzzles.

 

She is survived by her husband, Bill, three daughters: Susan Durfee and husband, Bill of Fond du lac, WI; Pamala Stransky of Mitchell; Cindy Bunch and husband, Lloyd of Mitchell; five grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, one brother, Ronald Herron and wife, Betty of Pierre and many nieces and nephews.

 

She was preceded in death by her son, Scott Stransky, one brother, Darrell Herron, one sister Janice Herron and her parents.
