Gisele Jeanne Traut was born June 8, 1922 in Paris, France to Marcel and Georgette LeComte. She married John A. “Jack” Traut on March 16, 1946 in Paris.
Gisele was an avid gardener. Her backyard was covered with marigolds, irises, tulips, moss roses and three types of lilacs. She also crocheted caps for the Children’s Inn in Sioux Falls and afghans for her friends and family. She also loved the opera and enjoyed attending the Concert Series programs.
She is survived by one daughter, Jacqueline (Tom) Hess, Mitchell; one son, Patrick (Nancy Dickinson) Traut, Sioux Falls; two granddaughters: Jesse Lynn Traut and her fiancé Kevin and Liz Traut; her friend, Sean; a daughter-in-law, Donna Traut; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John in 1980, her son, Daniel in 2011, two brothers-in-law, three sisters-in-law and two nephews.
