Eileen and Deb: such a shock to find Merlin's obituary as I look through the Mitchell lists from time to time. So sorry; condolences to all his family - we lost touch many years ago with all of you.

Merlin was the best of cousins. He was the go-to-guy for all the Rieck, Walker and Burchfield family history and kept us all remembering and caring for one another. We know that Rachelle and the family was such a blessing to him - "He was such a proud grandpa! We miss you Merlin but we give thanks that you can be at rest.

Thanks Merlin for calling me up all those years ago to play with you, Randy Rumbolz and Mark Schroeder in the Hillbilly Rockers. Its because of you that I was able to meet so many wonderful musicians who have become my friends. I hope that you rest in peace and prayers go out to your family and friends.
