Obituary

Lois Paulette Sweet was born on August 24, 1942 in Chamberlain to Henry and Agnes (Larson) Otterpohl.  She grew up and attended school in Gann Valley.  Lois worked at the I-90 Café, as a waitress, Syncom, Casey’s and Jet Lanes in Presho, SD.  She has been living in Mitchell for the last 40 years.  She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church and VFW Auxiliary. 

Lois is survived by her six children:  Otto Sweet of Mitchell, Oran Sweet of Mt. Vernon, Orville Sweet of Parkston, Charolette Suess of Casper, WY, Connie Tiensvold of Sioux Falls and Caroline Grimes of Parkston; one brother, Ernest Otterpohl of Mitchell; two sisters: Adelaide Maiden of Mitchell and Ramona Wendelboe of Letcher; fifteen grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one grandson, Calvin Sweet and special friend, Ken Carlson.

Had the great privilege of working with Lois at Syncom. She was a wonderful lady who I adored. I also went to school with Otto and Oran who are both wonderful was well. My thoughts are with all of you at this difficult time.

Otto, Orin, Orville Connie, Charlie, What is to say you are good friends you mothe was the best she was good to me and to so many others we had great fun even with your mom at work in the café and just hanging out. She was special to me very gracious and fun, It never a good time to lose love ones I whish I could be thereto hug you all and see you again. you all share a special place In my memory and heart you are all like her generous and kind and good people.
