Obituary:

 

 

Shirley Ann Nuss was born March 18, 1940, at Mitchell, to Joseph and Mercedes “Sis” Harris Jarabek. She attended Holy Family Catholic School and graduated from Notre Dame High School in Mitchell in 1958. On May 20, 1961, she married Darwin Nuss at Holy Family Catholic Church in Mitchell. She worked in the advertising department of the Daily Republic and was the CCD Director at Holy Spirit Catholic Church for twenty-five years. She was a ceramic painter and owned Ceramics by Shirley for many years. She had been a member of Holy Family Catholic Church and was a member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church.

She is survived by her husband, Darwin; five children: Randy Nuss of Mannington, WV, Lisa Weber and husband, Glen of Mitchell, SD, Tim Nuss of Mitchell, SD, Jeff Nuss of Michigan City, IN, Stephanie Dirkes and husband, Steven of Mitchell, SD; twelve grandchildren; two brothers, Dan Jarabek and wife, Linda of Gilbert, AZ, Lenny Jarabek of Letcher, SD; one brother-in-law, Dean Minder of Mitchell, SD and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Helen Minder.

 

 In lieu of flowers, a Memorial Fund has been established to

the Heart and Sole Cancer Walk.
