Obituary

Loretta Harders, 95, of Mitchell died, Saturday, October 6, 2018 at Firesteel Health Care Center in Mitchell. Funeral Services will be 1:00 PM Saturday, October 13, 2018 at the Bittner Funeral Chapel in Mitchell with a visitation one hour prior to the service.  Burial will be at American Legion Cemetery in Mitchell.

Loretta Minnie Harders was born September 15, 1923 to Herman and Anna (Sandman) Wittenhagen on the family farm west of Ethan. She married Clayton Harders and they were blessed with two daughters. Loretta will be remembered for her sense of humor, contagious laugh, her meticulous housekeeping, her love of Scrabble and her devotion to her two daughters. She loved to make people smile.

She is survived by her daughters, Kay Brown of Ft. Dodge, IA and Patricia (Keith) Courier of Omaha, NE, sister, Marian Jirsa, brother, Larry Wittenhagen, six grandchildren: Scott Schryvers, Kim (Jason) Sacks, Jennifer (Mike) Litwiller,  Justin Brown, Clayton (Laura) Courier, Ryan Courier, two great grandchildren: Elijah and Jenson Litwiller and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Clayton, sisters: Esther Condron, Leona Degen, son-in-law, Denny Brown and grandson, Jason Brown.

So sorry to hear about Loretta. She was such a gentle caring lady and such a good friend to Carol for so many years. She always had a hug for us when we would see her.
