Obituary

Margaret “Blondie” Gales, 82, White Lake, SD died Sunday, June 11, 2017 at Avera Queen of Peace Hospital in Mitchell.

Funeral services will be 10:30 am Thursday, June 15 at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in White Lake. Burial will be in St. Peter’s Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5-7:00 pm Wednesday with a scripture service at 7:00 pm at the church in White Lake. Arrangements are with the Bittner Funeral Chapel in Mitchell.

Margaret Lucille Gales was born August 18, 1934 in Mitchell to Frank and Margaret (Dunn) Reinesch. She grew up at White Lake and graduated from White Lake High School in 1952. Blondie was employed by Citizens Telephone Company in Plankinton for 15 years. On February 19, 1971 she married Marvin Gales at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in White Lake. They resided and raised their children in White Lake. Blondie was an avid Minnesota Twins fan, enjoyed baking, sewing, ceramics, listening to country music and never missed an opportunity to watch her children and grandchildren involved in their sports and activities.

She is survived by her husband, Marvin, four children: Scott Gales of Denver, CO, Stuart (Heather) Gales of Plankinton, Steve (Kari) Gales of Watertown and Stacey (Marshall) Crawford of Sioux Falls, six grandchildren Davis, Brynn, Hudson, Izac, Sophia, and Levi, two sisters: Mabel Mairose of White Lake, Carol Reinesch of White Lake, four brothers: Don (Nancy) Reinesch of Kimball, Butch (Mary) Reinesch of Sioux Falls, Bob (Mary) Reinesch of White Lake and Bill Reinesch of Hartford.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Margaret (Dunn) Reinesch, one sister, Rosemary “Satch” Reinesch and a brother-in-law, Darrell Mairose.

I am so sorry to hear about Blondie. She was a dear friend besides being my sis-in-law. I wasn't able to make the trip down, but know she is in my prayers. Will miss the phone calls we shared. God BLESS her !!!!
