DatesAugust 26, 1939 - April 7, 2017
Jean Marie Buschelman was born on August 26, 1939 to Leonard and Marie (Schaal) Mueller in the family home in Tyndall, SD. Growing up she helped out in the family business, Mueller Hatchery. She graduated from Tyndall High School in 1957 and continued her education with an RN degree from Sacred Heart in Yankton. After completing Nurses Training, she met the love of her life on a blind date. She married John "Jack" Buschelman on January 19, 1962. They were married 54 years. Jean and Jack had two children and two grandchildren. She worked as a nurse for several years before the couple moved to Mitchell. In Mitchell, Jean worked as a School Nurse for many years before retiring. After retirement she continued working in a local doctor's office. Jean was fun loving and always active. She loved to dance, travel and visit with friends. She loved growing flowers, and was very proud of her peony plants. She was also a long time member of the Prairie Stitchers, a Chapter of the Embroiderer's Guild of America. Many of her needlework projects were entered in shows and competitions. She was an active member of Trinity Lutheran Church and sang in the choir for many years.
She is survived by her two children: Denese (Chuck) Keener of Fairfield, OH, and Todd Buschelman of Lakeside, CA; two grandchildren: Lucas and Marie Keener; a brother, Jerry (Audrey) Mueller of Auburn, CA and a sister, Ramona (James) Mueller of Yankton, SD. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.

Ron and I have many fond memories of Jean and Jack. We went to a lot of basketball games and out for coffee and dessert later. Our times at Trinity Lutheran church have special meanings too.

We enjoyed Jean (and Jack) when we jointly participated in Mueller family reunions, including the wonderful reunion trip to our ancestral "homeland" in Bessarabia (now Ukraine).

Jean worked with my mom, Mary Jane Ewing, as a school nurse. I knew your mom through the school district as well. She always had a bright smile and loved working with children. Peace to your family.

Jean was my parents flowergirl at their wedding in 1944. My mom always felt she was extra special. May you be comforted that others have enjoyed her through out the years. May the memories of your mother always make your hearts smile. God Bless.
