Charles Ibis, recently retired from the Unified Judicial System after 31 years of service and has been a part of the Bittner Funeral Chapel team since 2007. Besides assisting with funerals, transportation, and fleet maintenance, he can fix anything and is a great person to have around.
Charles was born in Menno and moved with his family to Gettysburg, Redfield and Mobridge. He graduated from Redfield High School, attended Concordia College in St. Paul MN and graduated from Dakota Wesleyan University in 1975. Following graduation he worked for Abbott House, Board of Pardons and Paroles. He then worked as a court service officer for the Unified Judicial System and when he retired he was the Deputy Chief of Court Services.
He is an active member of Zion Lutheran Church serving as an officer. He married Cynthia Burdine. Cynthia and Charles have two children, Luke and Sara. You may see him on the streets as he is an avid walker. He also enjoys old cars and collects old gas pumps.
His father, Ivan worked part-time at Bittner Funeral Chapel and his mother currently provides office support part-time with the firm.
Charles is a man of many talents and assists in funeral service in many ways.
